Tahoe Thru the Pines (L-274)

This painting is based on a photograph I took while skiing at Homewood Ski Resort on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. We were going down Ore Car run and there was an opening through the trees which showed the midground evergreens in bright afternoon light while the trail we were on was in deep shadow. The light contrasts, and the view of the lake and distant mountains and their reflections were too good to pass up. (Acrylic)
